"None of us, including me, ever do great things. But we can all do small things, with great love, and together we can do something wonderful." – Mother Teresa
We believe it is important to give back to the
COMMUNITY, PLANET, & OTHERS we love.
We know we cannot change the world, but we can do our small part, with great love, and hopefully together can do something wonderful.
We feel we ALL need to do our part to help reduce our footprint on this beautiful Earth. Because of this we are focused on practicing sustainable methods, carrying sustainable products and working with companies that are making positive impacts in the world. We personally have systems in place to reduce, reuse and recycle. Our hope is to continue to raise awareness through our frame selections and through the companies give back.
Costa Del Mar:
* Every year, an estimated 640,000 tons of discarded fishing material makes its way into our waterways. Discarded fishing nets are the most harmful form of plastic pollution in our oceans. But, in partnership with Bureo, we’re helping to change that. Made of 97% to 100% recycled fishing nets.
*Costa helps fund OCEARCH, a team of scientists and explorers that conduct ocean research expeditions to gather critical data to save the oceans we all love.
*Works with Trees for the Future, an NGO that educates smallholder farmers to use agro-forestry and permaculture. Their method is called the Forest Garden Approach. Planting trees provides families with more than just food. It provides income, empowerment, unity, leadership, education, and even saves lives.
*Teamed up with Waste Free Oceans, an NGO that works with local fishermen who collect used plastic fishing nets, ropes, and trawls from the ocean. All Eco Ocean frames are created from recycled ocean based plastics.

Giving back to Others:
We feel everyone deserves the gift of sight. Sight is important for financial, social and emotional success, but unfortunately, it is not always accessible. We are working to do our part by performing exams to those in need, accepting ALL insurances and having affordable options for ALL budgets as well as partnering with companies who focus on giving back as well.
* Dr. Bury is the regional optometrist for the 20/20 Onsite mobile unit. This mobile optometry bus sees high risk children with cystic fibrosis who otherwise may not be able to be seen due to health, financial, or transportation limitations.
* Works with Seva to give children in need glasses. Seva is a global nonprofit eye care organization that transforms lives and strengthens communities by restoring sight and preventing blindness. Through its many partnerships, Seva provides critical eye care to underserved communities, especially women, children, and indigenous peoples and trains local eye care providers to develop self-sustaining eye programs around the world
* Allows us to utilize the additional frame for those in need in our own community. For every 141 Eyewear purchase, we give a new pair of prescription glasses to a person in need. No portions of proceeds. No percentages. You buy, 141 gives us a frame, then we can pay it forward.
Giving back to our Community:
We know we wouldn't be here without the support from our community and we also know sometimes people within that community can come on hard times. We believe being part of a community also means helping those in the community in need. If you know someone in need of a new pair of glasses or an eye exam and glasses that may not be able to get them right now, we are offering a free eye exam and a pair of free eyeglasses (select pairs and lens styles).
Please write a brief summary on how and why you feel this person is deserving of this opportunity and we will do our best to help everyone we can. Submit responses below. We will notify you when a selection is made.
